After months of one or two winter storms per week we have an above normal snow pack. This will mean we will have increased flows down our Central Valley Rivers. The Stanislaus went from 300 Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) to 1,300 CFM on April 1st. Increased flows on the San Joaquin River system will bring more Stripers up into our rivers including the Stanislaus and Tuolumne Rivers.
We will target Smallmouth, Large mouth, and Stripers on these rivers. I have many private launch points that allow me to fish sections of river that seldom get fished.
As the water temperature increases so will the top water bite. Throwing popers to eager Smallmouth Bass is exciting. Good fishing will continue throughout the summer. Pictured are some of the fish we caught last Spring and Summer.
