Striper on the Fly - Striper fishing has become a year round fishery. We have peak seasons in spring and fall but if Mr Striper can find bait fish, he'll be in my home waters almost year round. The popularity of Fly Fishing for Stripers has grown immensely. I have spent many years learning where the Stripers will be during different tide movements, water temperatures changes, and bait fish migrations. We can also combine Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass on the same trip.

Stanislaus River - Rainbows ... The Stan is a great catch and release river producing many quality Rainbows. We fish this river from January 1 through October 31 using either a 13 ft Aire 3 man raft or a 17 ft Willie Drift Boat. There is a very limited number of people fishing this river so if you want to get away from combat fishing, this is the place. We can catch Rainbows in the morning and persue Stripers and Smallmouth in the afternoon.

Mokelumne River - Steelhead and Rainbows ... On January 1, the Moke opens to fishing for a 3 month period and closing on March 31. The river reopens to fishing on the fourth Saturday in May and remains open until October 31. There is a hatchery at the base of Comanche Dam and many Steelhead return each year. The Mokelumne produces a good number of 3-6 lb Steelhead and many native Rainbows. In low summer flows we float the River in my 13 ft raft stopping along the way for some easy wading.

Feather River - Steelhead on a fly rod is a challenging and rewarding experience. The Feather River has a good population of Steelhead with the peak season in November and December. The 2006 season produced a number of fish in the 6-10 lb range. This is a secial time of the year as the Salmon fishing crowds have left. At times, you could picture being in Alaska with spawning Salmon all around you and Osprey flying overhead. Come Join me.
